But would be my second option as it would still need to download full Europe. Other option I was thinking about is to have presets for the tiles choosen. What I would prefer is only to download the maps I really need and merge the ones causing issues with overlapping.
Overall the Europe map looks to big to me. So currently I choose the specific tiles via mapinstall fitting to my hometrails reachable for a day trip. I am facing the with overlapping map in border region. In Basecamp if you have several maps installed you can select the maps with the map selector toolbar. If I downloaded and installed mtbgreat-britain. I currently use the mapset for Australia but would also like to access the mapset for Great Britain from the same instance of Basecamp. Simply unpack a mapsource update see links above, run MAIN. I recommend installing a second map good idea is to install the map legend so you can get to know the layout!!! Essentially 1 map would be enough also. Hence for general use I recommend Garmin Basecamp instead. Note that while Basecamp shows contourlines, Garmin Mapsource doesn’t. I recommend to use the most uptodate version by Garmin as of writing this is 6.Įarlier versions of Mapsource also 6. Therfore below I describe two ways how you can install Mapsource legally nevertheless. Garmin only provides updates, no actual installation packages. Garmin Mapsource is not develloped anymore, but version 6.
